(BEDFORD) – Bedford Police Officers were requested to 5th and S street after a report of an unresponsive male passed out inside a vehicle that was running on Saturday.
Officers arrived and located 34-year-old Richard Allen, of Orleans, slumped over in the driver seat.
“Officers were able to wake Allen, but he was very lethargic and would not respond to officers,” said Chief Terry Moore. “As officers tried to remove Allen from the vehicle he started to resist and tense up. While interacting with Allen he actively resisted and struck an officer. After removing Allen they noticed several knives and a handgun on him.”
Police also located on Allen a baggie containing a large amount of meth. While searching his vehicle officers located drug paraphernalia, marijuana, several pills, heroin, syringes, legend drugs, and more meth totaling more than 40 grams.
Allen was arrested on charges of dealing meth, possession of meth, possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug, unlawful possession of a syringe, resisting arrest, failure to identify.
