(BARTHOLOMEW CO.) – Two motorcyclists were injured after an accident on Thursday in Bartholomew County.
The accident was reported at 5:50 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 200 North and County Road 1140 East.
Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies report that a group of cyclists was traveling on County Road 200 North when 36-year-old Lee Watts, of Columbus, tried to make a turn onto Anderson Falls.
The following motorcycle, driven by 34-year-old James Fox, struck the rear of Watts’ bike, throwing Fox off his motorcycle onto the pavement. Fox was flown by Lifeline helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment. Fox was alert and speaking to emergency crews.
Watts, who suffered minor injures, was treated at the scene.
Both riders were wearing helmets and protective leather racing jackets.
Hartsville volunteers and Bartholomew County deputies were assisted at the scene by Columbus Regional Hospital paramedics.
