(UNDATED) – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a short unplanned road closure on State Road 257 between Washington and Otwell.
On Tuesday, May, 12, contractors currently rehabbing the White River Bridge on State Road 257 will completely close the road for about two hours to repair an area of pavement in the lane traffic is using to pass through the work zone.
A large pothole has formed in the wheel path and to minimize the potential for traffic interruptions, workers on site will be repairing the area.
The repair will be done under full closure beginning at 9 a.m. local time. Work should take about two hours. During that time, motorists will need to seek an alternate route. The suggested route uses S.R. 57 to detour around.
INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
