(BLOOMINGTON) – The Monroe County Fair Board and Monroe County 4-H Board voted to have no in-person fair this year due to COVID-19 concerns.
Plans are in the works for 4-H members to show their projects virtually. As plans are finalized, 4-H families will be provided with information regarding the virtual exhibition via email.
“The uncertainty around planning for large gatherings, as well as the concerns regarding proper implementation of COVID-19 safety protocols at such a large venue, also contributed to the very difficult decision to cancel this beloved community event,” according to a news release. “The Fair Board is working to contact vendors, commercial exhibitors, and other entities which had planned to participate in the 2020 fair.”
