John A. Myers, 87 of Bedford passed away on Friday, May 29, 2020, at 9:30 p.m. at White River Lodge in Bedford.
He was born in Lawrence County on May 10, 1933, to Earl O. Myers and Flora Alice (Nichols) Myers. John married Phyllis J. Fields on August 4,
1957 and she preceded him in death on March 2, 2020.
John was retired from the US Postal service where he was Assistant Postmaster at the Bedford Post Office, he was a US Navy Veteran and member of the Bedford American Legion Post 33
Survivors include one son, Kevin (Sheryl) Myers of Bedford; one daughter, Linda (Mark) Jackson of Bedford; 5 grandchildren, Laura (Jimmy) Gossman, Andrew (Fawna) Myers, Tim Myers, Jacqueline (Jason) Lyons, and Mary Ellen (Zach) Paul, 11 great-grandchildren, Jackson, Paige and Jase Gossman, Jadelynn, Carson, Reid and Reece Lyons, Serenity Paul, Grace, Isaac, and
Tyler Mullis.
John was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Phyllis J. Myers, one sister, Gail Smith.
Graveside rites will be held at Noon on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Cresthaven Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
