(BEDFORD) – The Car Wash scheduled for Saturday at the Thorton Teen Center has been canceled.
Shelia Arthur passed away Thursday morning after a battle with Stage-4 pancreatic cancer. She was also suffering from a blood clot in her heart.
Pancreatic cancer begins in the pancreas lying behind the lower part of the stomach. There are fewer than 200,000 cases per year.
There are no symptoms in the early stages, sometimes making diagnosis difficult. The late stages are associated with symptoms, but these can be non-specific, such as lack of appetite and weight loss.
“It is with heavy hearts that we have to cancel this event,” said Tonya Arthur Johnson. “Mom would be smiling down on us right now.”
Sheila Arthur was known for her big smiles. Even in pain, she was smiling.
Shelia Arthur was an owner of Arthur Trucking and is survived by her husband Tony and their nine children.
