Lanny W. McCune, 76, passed away Monday, June 15, 2020, at his residence.
Born December 16, 1943, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Walter “Coonie” and Mary Bonnie (Burton) McCune. He married Minnie Lamb August 25, 1966.
Lanny retired from Seymour Redding Elementary School with 33 years of service. He was a 1961 graduate of Huron High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University and his master’s degree from Indiana University. Lanny loved the outdoors and golfing. He enjoyed gardening and caring for his lawn.
Survivors including his wife, Minnie McCune of Seymour; sister-in-law, Kate McCune of Huntingburg and niece, Carrie McCune of Huntingburg.
His parents; brothers, Charles McCune and infant Randall Royce McCune; and nephew, Marty McCune, preceded him in death.
A family gathering was Friday morning at Fairview Cemetery in Orleans. Pastor Charles Kilhorn officiated.
