Violet Marie Roberts, 93, of French Lick passed away on June 24, 2020, at Springs Valley Meadows.
She was born in Martin County to Ernest and Ellie (Gilbert) Holt on March 29, 1927. Through the years she worked several jobs including running a
truck stop in Salem, working at Crane, and she was a nurse’s aid at Loogootee Nursing Center, she was also a homemaker. Violet married Harry Jones at the age of sixteen during their marriage
Violet and Harry had eight children. Five of their children preceded in death, William Eugene, Kenneth Ray, Donna Lee, Sandra Sue, and Connie Lou. Surviving children are Judy Reynolds of Liberty, Kentucky, Ronnie Jones of French Lick, Debbie Smith of Shoals.
Violet and Harry were married for nearly 20 years. Violet remarried on May 29, 1965, to Clinton A. Roberts, they were married 55 years until Clint’s death. Violet had 27 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Violet touched many lives and she will truly be missed.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 29, 2020, at 1 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home, burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be on Monday from 11 a.m. until service time at
1 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home.
