(MITCHELL) – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a closure for State Road 60 in Lawrence and Orange Counties for drainage culvert replacements.
Beginning on or around Monday, July 27, INDOT Maintenance crews will begin replacing four drainage pipes on S.R. 60 from about six miles east of the junction of S.R. 37 to the Washington County line. Each pipe will be done in succession and only one location will be closed at a time. The project requires a full closure at each location for excavation of the old pipe.
Work on this project is scheduled to wrap up by the end of July depending upon weather conditions. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure. Through traffic will need to use the official detour following S.R. 37, S.R. 337, and S.R. 56.
INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
