(DAVIESS CO.) – The United Way of Daviess County has awarded more than $16,000 to several agencies in Daviess County.
This is the first phase of the Economic Relief Initiative.
Bertha D. Garten Ketcham Memorial Center was awarded $6,000 to provide therapy for staff to help cope with the trauma of multiple residents and staff who contracted and/or passed away from COVID-19.
Four Rivers Resource Services/DSI received more than $5,778 to provide PPE items, safety training for staff, and operating preschool expenses for essential employees.
The Daviess County Partnership received $2,500 to provide advertising to every household regarding Covid related resources and/or grant opportunities to agencies/businesses.
Senior and Family Services got $1,000, To provide PPE items and cleaning supplies so that the centers can be safely re-opened for seniors.
The Power House got $500, to provide PPE items and cleaning supplies to the youth center.
The Daviess County Historical Society received a $500 COVID-19 Grant.
Phase II for the Economic Relief Initiative to open is August 15th, available through the Community Foundation’s portal. This is for the mid-term recovery phase regarding COVID-19. The funds are to help the community in moving forward and providing a service that the United Way has found may be essential during this time.
