(BLOOMINGTON) – Bloomington Mayor John Hamilton joins other community leaders in a weekly Zoom conference call today, from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. (E.D.T.) to share the most recent developments in the coordinated effort to mitigate and manage the COVID-19 crisis.
This week, Dr. Aaron Carroll, M.D., M.S., Professor of Pediatrics and Director of Surveillance and Mitigation for the COVID-19 Pandemic at Indiana University will present an overview of the recently released IU COVID-19 plan for the start of the fall semester. Dr. Carroll will be introduced by Kirk White, Indiana University Bloomington COVID Response Unit (CRU) Lead.
Today’s call will also feature presentations by Mayor Hamilton; Julie Thomas, Monroe County Commissioners President; Kate Petroline, Monroe County Emergency Management Deputy Director; Kathy Hewett, Monroe County Health Department, Public Information Officer; and Mary Ann Valenta, IU Health, Regional Director, Alignment & Integration.
Press briefings from the governmental and institutional bodies coordinating the local response to the COVID-19 pandemic will continue weekly on Fridays from 1:15 to 2 p.m.
Barring technical difficulties, the conference will be available via live stream at the City of Bloomington Facebook page, where they may pose questions that may be relayed to the panelists if time allows.
