SEYMOUR – Bedford North Lawrence dropped only one game in singles while rolling past Trinity Lutheran 5-0 during boys high school tennis action on Thursday.
The Stars (1-2) went on the road to get their first win of the season and did so in convincing fashion. Adam Tlustek thumped Ryan Korman 6-0, 6-0 at No.1 singles, Steven Graham stopped Cameron Grunwald 6-0, 6-1 at No.2, and Graham Turner slammed Henry Hall 6-0, 6-0 at No.3.
“We talked to the kids about thinking more during warmups, to get them to look for weaknesses of opponents,” BNL coach Donnie Thomas said. “Don’t give games away with double faults and unforced errors.
“Singles did a really good job. We needed to win after a couple of tough teams, so we know what it feels like.”
In doubles, Konley Woodward and Cameron Gratzer conquered Nathan Voelker and Solomon Hall 6-2, 6-2 at No.1. Caleb Jones and Nate Pemberton popped Luke Pollert and James Tomach 6-1, 6-2 at No.2.
The Stars will host the BNL Invitational on Friday.
