(BEDFORD) – Two people were arrested after a Bedford Police officer stopped their vehicle at 15th and L streets after the driver committed a traffic violation Tuesday afternoon.
According to Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore, the driver, 40-year-old Lori Brumage, was very nervous while speaking to officers.
“She denied officers consent to search her vehicle because of who may have been in it the last few days,” added Chief Moore.
Officers identified her passenger at 47-year-old Joseph Hignite.
“Our K9 arrived and alerted on the rear door,” added Chief Moore. “During the vehicle search officers located methamphetamine inside Brumage’s purse, marijuana in the glove box, and a Schedule I substance in the center console.”
Brumage is facing charges of possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance, and was issued a citation for driving left of center.
