(BLOOMINGTON) – The Bloomington Fire Department responded to a warehouse fire in the 1000 block of West Allen Street near Patterson Street early Thursday morning.
Firefighters were alerted to the blaze at 4 a.m. Firefighters were on the scene throughout the morning putting out hot spots.
The 14,000 square foot warehouse is next to Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard. The building most recently housed the Space Saver Storage business.
According to Bloomington Fire Chief Jason Allen, the fire had broken through the roof and the building was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on the scene.
The cause of the fire that destroyed the building remains under investigation. Chief Allen says the building is unstable due to the fire damage.
