Robert “Bob” Dean Sears entered eternal rest on October 18, 2020 at 7:50 p.m. at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
He was born December 22, 1942 to Robert Eugene and Mary Louise
Lavendar Sears. He was of the Christian faith.
He graduated from Heltonville High School in 1962. He worked thirty-eight years for Cummins Engine Company.
On September 23, 1989 he married Carol Hillenburg and she survives. Also surviving are one son Barry Sears, one daughter April (Brent) Whitson, one step-son David (Mellonie) Kern, two step-daughters Michelle (Richard) Wykoff and Angela (Eugene) Johnson. Also surviving are five grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three step-great- grandchildren. He is also survived by his twin brother Ronald (Shirley) Sears, Darrell Sears, two sisters, Cheryl (Rod) Rance and Mary Faith (Bryan) Jones. Several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother David Sears in infancy, his in-laws Mr. and Mrs. Emert Hillenburg and a brother-in-law Kenneth Hillenburg. His interests were family, friends, IU basketball and classic cars.
