(MITCHELL) – One person was injured when a tree fell on a apartment at the Persimmon Park Apartments Building 4 in Mitchell on Friday afternoon.
At 4:53 p.m. Mitchell Police, Mitchell Fire, and the IU Health Ambulance service was called to the location after a man suffered a head injury after a tree fell on the apartment building. The man was treated at the scene and refused to be transported to the hospital.
Approximately eight people have been dislocated and building management will be working in finding placement for those needing a place to stay.
A strong thunderstorm with approximately 60 MPH winds came through the area when the incident occured. The National Weather Service had issued a Thunderstorm Warning for the area.
