(UNDATED) – Voters in Lawrence County continue to cast votes in early voting and in absentee ballots.
On Saturday morning, voting centers in both Mitchell and Bedford had people lined up and ready to do their civic duty before they opened.
Heather del Cruz reports that so far 6,993 voters have voted which is 21 percent of registered voters.
On Saturday 517 cast their votes at Courthouse Plaza in Bedford, and 431 voters cast their votes at the Mitchell Community Center.
A total of 3,165 absentee ballots have been turned in and 677 ballots are still out.
Next Saturday both voting centers in Bedford and Mitchell will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Voters can still use the Courthouse Plaza on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and until noon on Monday, November 2nd.

The Lawrence County Election Board will conduct a meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 28th at 1:30 p.m. in the Voter registration office of the Lawrence County Courthouse to discuss election matters. Social distancing guidelines will be followed.
