TERRE HAUTE – Bedford North Lawrence senior Autumn Spence completed her cross country career during the IHSAA state championship race on Saturday at the LaVern Gibson championship course.
Spence finished 153rd in the field of 205 with a time of 20:56.3. She was the first BNL runner to qualify for the state finals since 2010.
“Getting to State was a huge accomplishment, with years of work behind it,” BNL coach Jill Vance said. “I’m so happy for Autumn that she got to have this experience.“
Lowell’s Karina James was the individual state champion in 18:00.1.
Carmel won the team championship with 52 points while Fort Wayne Carroll was second with 77.
