(MITCHELL) – The Mitchell Community Schools Board of Trustees named Jessica Jones Assistant Superintendent during their meeting Monday evening.
Jones is an experienced educator who has taught at Burris Elementary School from August 2006 – May 2012, as well as served as assistant principal from July 2012 – August 2013. Jones also served as principal at Mitchell Junior High School from 2013-2015, and back as principal at Burris from July of 2015- December of 2020.
Jones is a 2002 graduate of Mitchell High School, 2006 graduate of Indiana University K- 6 Education, 2008 Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at Indiana Wesleyan, 2011 Principal Licensure Program from Indiana Wesleyan, 2015 Graduate of Indiana Wesleyan Business Information Systems, and in May of 2021 will complete Educational Specialists and will apply for Superintendent’s license at Indiana State University.

All of the Mitchell school board members, and Dr. Comer congratulated her new position within the school corporation.
