(DAVIESS CO.) – Monday, at approximately 2:30 p.m. an Indiana State Trooper was patrolling on U.S. 50 in Daviess County near the White River when he noticed a vehicle traveling 93 miles per hour in a 60 mile per hour speed zone.
The trooper attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled.
The pursuit continued east on US 50 at a high rate of speed. The driver then turned onto South County Road 300 West.
The driver stopped a short distance later near Old US 50. As the Trooper approached the vehicle both the driver and passenger were eating marijuana.
The trooper arrested both the driver Christian Jose Del Valle Maldonado and his passenger Josue L. Rodriguez.
Maldonado is facing charges of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and reckless driving.
Rodriguez is facing charges of visiting a common nuisance and possession of marijuana.
