(BEDFORD) – The Milwaukee Depot is ready for Santa’s appearance Friday and Saturday.
Although, the annual visit with Santa at Otis Park this year was cancelled, Bedford Mayor Sam Craig and the Bedford Parks Department were determined to find a way to spread the holiday spirit and christmas cheer.
Thanks to the efforts of Bedford City employees, this event should help celebrate the holiday and bring smiles to the children of Lawrence County..
Thursday morning city employees could be seen working feverishly to get things in place for the weekend event.
“We welcome everyone to drive by so Santa can wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Due to the current pandemic. Santa has requested that there will be no walk-up contact with him so that he can stay healthy for Christmas,” said Mayor Sam Craig.
This is organized as a drive-by event and everyone is requested to stay in their vehicles so all the children can see Santa. Due to Santa’s request, participants are asked to drive down J Street from 5th Street.
The event will start at 5:00 p.m. and last until 9:00 p.m.
“We ask for your cooperation in keeping the vehicles moving in the area of the depot,” said Mayor Craig.
The Lawrence County Health Department has been consulted to make sure safety guidelines are in place for this event.
