(BEDFORD) – A Mitchell man was arrested on a warrant after stealing packages from a porch.
Officers arrested 25-year-old Landon Anderson on a charge of theft.
According to a probable cause affidavit, on December 27th at 2:55 p.m. a woman came to the Bedford Police Department to pick up property that had been dropped off at the Bedford Police Department several hours earlier as “found property”. The woman reported that on Christmas Day at 10:43 a.m. a male entered her porch and stole two packages. She was able to provide video of the said incident.
The packages contained the woman’s medications and a jar opener.
The medication was recovered on Bundy Lane and dropped off at the Bedford Police Department by an anonymous person. Police then contacted the woman that her medication had been found.
Police posted the video of the theft on their Facebook page and received tips that the male was Landon Anderson.
The US Postal Service investigator reported to the police that he recognized Anderson and the vehicle from the Facebook post. The USPS investigator also stated that Anderson was a suspect for several thefts of mail from the Williams area.Â
The information was forwarded to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office. A warrant was issued for Anderson’s arrest.
