Evelyn Doris Cain Harper Ochs Bugh Waite, 78, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2021, after a courageous battle with Cancer with her daughters by her side.
She was born March 28, 1942, to the late John and Pauline (Quire) Cain and the late George Harper.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Ron Cain, husband Errol Bugh, husband Al Waite, and her dog Willie. Evelyn is survived by her daughters Kathy (Alan) Ochs Otte, and Kimberly (Charlie) Ochs Neace, Stepsons Steve (Sue) Bugh, Mike Bugh, brother, Don (Kelly) Cain, sisters Gwen (Rosy) Bolduc, Debora Harper, Pam (Alan) Bidwell, many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, Gary Ochs, nieces, nephews, cousins, gal pals, puppy Willow and countless treasured friends, wherever she lived throughout her beautiful life, lived to the fullest.
Evelyn was born at home in Louisville. As a child, she enjoyed making paper dolls from Sears Catalogs, listening to stories on the radio, coloring in coloring books, playing outside with friends, reading and studying spelling with sister Gwen, summer breaks with Aunts and Uncles playing on their farms, took tap and ballet lessons, attended Charm and Modeling classes. At age 16, Evelyn worked at Yale Restaurant, her Dad’s business while attending DuPont Manual High School. She was proud to win “Best dressed” award on Red and White Day. She graduated Manual High School in 1960, she then attended Spencerian Business College.
Evelyn married Gary Ochs in 1962, loved being a mother, was involved with Welcome Wagon, Tri Kappa Sorority, and enjoyed being a floral designer at Hirscher’s Flower Shop.
Evelyn married Errol Bugh in 1977, worked at Ford, moved to Georgia, and worked at Flowers by Cheryl. Then she owned and operated Tifton Floral and loved it! She retired and moved back to Louisville to be closer to her family.
On a vacation trip to Florida, Evelyn purchased a vacation home. She married Al Waite in 2013, she enjoyed playing cards and dinners with her sisters, aerobics classes, playing Bunco, and fun gatherings with her gal pals, friends Ruth and Laura, and her puppy Willow. Evelyn was a lifelong Christian, already had her wings like an angel here on Earth, and now has her Heavenly wings with her Lord and Savior. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Society.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021, at Cresthaven Funeral Home in Bedford at 11:00 a.m., burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021, at Cresthaven Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until the service time.
