Rev. James E. Bundy, 87, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday, January 17
2021 at 5:05 a.m. at Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford.
He was born on June 17, 1933, in Bedford to Harry and Lena (Elkins) Bundy. He was a 1951 graduate of Fayetteville High School, He married Betty Jo Shaw on March 7, 1958, and she survives.
James retired after 37 years from Architectural Stone in Bedford, He was a
minister for 25 years, pastoring at the Mitchell Church of God, he also owned and operated Bundy’s Furniture in Bedford, he loved to garden, loved animals, loved to be outside, and loved his family.
Survivors include his wife Betty Jo Bundy of Bedford, one daughter, Kathy (Keith) Smoot of Bedford and one son, Brad Bundy of Bedford, two
grandsons, Kirk (Kayla) Smoot of Evansville and Kraig (Katelynn Dants) Smoot of Bloomington.
James was preceded in death by his parents, one son, James Kevin Bundy,
one granddaughter, Kara Smoot, two brothers, Charles Bundy and Herschel
Bundy, five sisters, Helen Wagner, Lyoma May, Margaret Blanda, Guy Kern, and Gladys Thorne.
Due to COVID-19, private family funeral services will be held at Cresthaven
Funeral Home, burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens
