Peggy Anita Burns, 88, of Shoals, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021, at the Loogootee Nursing Center.
She was born January 4, 1932, in Evansville to Floyd and Estelle (Murray) Forston. She married U. Columbus Burns and he preceded her in death in 1976.
Peggy was a housekeeper at the Sheraton Hotel and was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include her children, Shirley Jean (Bernard) Holt and Alice Jackie Terry; seventeen grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; children, Patricia White, Richard Burns, Christine Lampson, and an infant son; two grandchildren, Don Aslinger and Jimmy Lee Holt; and siblings, Don Forston, David Forston, and Joyce Forston.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Queen-Lee Chapel with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The Queen-Lee Chapel of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the arrangements.
