Michael David “Muscles” Kender, 39, of Bloomington, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at his residence.
Born April 13, 1981, in Hammond, he was the son of George Albert and Judith Lynn (Boyd) Kender.
Michael was an operating engineer and a member of IUOE Local No. 181. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post No. 250 and an auxiliary member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. Michael graduated from Mitchell High School in 2000.
Michael was a loving dad, always jovial, and had the biggest smile in the room. He enjoyed four-wheeling and boating.
Survivors include his children, Jackson Bradley Kender of Bedford, Logan Mackay Kender of Bedford and Kannon Michael Kender of Bedford; the mothers of his children, Joy E. McGlothlin of Mitchell and Amanda McCarty of Bedford; mother, Judy Kender of Mitchell; siblings, Taylor Kender of Mitchell, Jamie Brinkman of El Paso, Texas; maternal grandparents, Jim and Barbara Boyd of Lake Station, Bill and Vicki Marlowe of Portage; paternal grandparents, Dick and Phyllis Scott of Valparaiso and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
His father, George Albert Kender and paternal grandfather, Richard Kender, preceded him in death.
Celebration of Life will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 28, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
