Charles H. “Charlie” Eagan, 89, of Bedford, passed away at 12:30 p.m., on Sunday, April 25, 2021.
Born August 30, 1931, in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Ora Thomas and Ethel Blanche (Lewis) Eagan. He married Elizabeth Jane Lake on June 17, 1950, and she survives. He was a tool and dye worker for General Motors and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Old Country Church in Harrodsburg. He loved to fish, coon hunt, and spend time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Jane, of Bedford; five children, Charla Key, of Salem, Randy Eagan, and wife, Nancy, of Orleans, Dana Hazel, and husband, James, of Freedom, Dawn Douglas and husband, Carl, and Laura Gore and
husband, Danny, all of Bedford; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Eagan and Sandra, of Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Pamela Eagan and Jeanetta East; a son, Dwight Ray Eagan (in infancy); a great-grandson; nine brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 30th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Kenneth Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Fayetteville Community Cemetery with military rites accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
