MITCHELL – Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Gregg Taylor reported a hybrid wolf has escaped his enclosure in the 500 block of Harrison Road in Mitchell.
Animal control is aware that one hybrid wolf is loose and has been in the area actively looking for the animal.
“They have also set up some live traps in an attempt to catch it,” said Chief Deputy Taylor. “Only one of the animals is loose, the others are secured and accounted for.”
As a safety precaution, should anyone in that area see or come into contact with the dogs they should not approach or attempt to catch them.
Call 911 immediately and the appropriate personnel will be dispatched to the area.
