Paul Daniel Parker, 74, of Bedford, passed away at 5:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at his home with
his family present.
Born July 23, 1946, in Charlestown, IN, he was the son of Paul S. and Aleta Parker. He married Darlene Lewis on
October 3, 1964, and she survives.
Dan was a graduate of the Oolitic High School with the class of 1964. He retired from General Motors in Bedford
in 2004. He was a Millwright/Welder for 38 years. He served as past president of the U.A.W. Local #440. Dan
was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many good years fishing on Melbourne Beach, FL.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Darlene, of Bedford; their children, Allen (Molli) Parker, of Indianapolis, Jo Ellen (Sam) Holland, of Bedford, Brett (Lindsey) Parker, of Bedford; siblings, Teresa (Wayne) Manion, of Bedford, Patti Fortner, of Greenfield, and Polly (Marty) Wilson, of Springville; grandchildren, Alexandra Jo, Paul Hayden, Sammy Dale, Paul Jackson, Kolton Brock, Jay Robert, Kasen Isaiah, Mallory Frances, Brycelyn, Karingtyn, and Branson; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Russell, and Ruby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, Robert Lewis, and his Florida fishing buddy, brother-in-law, Denny Fortner.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 29th at the Day & Carter Mortuary Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Beech Grove Cemetery with Pastor Reed Beard
officiating.
