BEDFORD – A Bedford woman was arrested on meth charges after a Bedford Police officer stopped her vehicle Friday night after seeing a female passenger who was wanted on a warrant.
The officer stopped the vehicle in the 2110 block of Norton Lane.
Police arrested 51-year-old Denna Cooper on a warrant for theft.
The driver of the vehicle, 35-year-old Cassandra Ping, immediately stepped out of the vehicle and began throwing “trash away”.
An officer took the trash away from Ping and found a glass smoking device inside the trash.
Canine Zazu alerted officers to possible drugs in the vehicle.
In the vehicle, police found a grinder with marijuana residue and another glass smoking device. In Ping’s purse, an officer found a glass smoking pipe containing meth residue.
Both women were transported to the Bedford Police Department. During the booking process, Ping removed a gold foil wrapper from her bra that contained a yellow pill and threw it on the floor.
Ping was arrested on charges of possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.
