BEDFORD – A 14-year-old boy was arrested on a charge of sexual battery.
According to Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore, officers were requested to investigate a possible sexual child abuse case by the Department of Child Services after they received a complaint from the victim’s mother.
“Our detectives met with DCS on Thursday, June 10, and scheduled an interview with the victim at Susie’s Place in Bloomington on Friday, June 11,” Chief Moore added. “It was determined after the interview with the victim and the accused, a fourteen-year-old male, that the Lawrence County Probation needed to be contacted. Probation signed paperwork for the male juvenile to be transported to a juvenile detention center.”
