BLOOMINGTON – Congratulations to Yena Park as she competed this week in the Scripps National Spelling Bee Quarterfinals.
Yena just completed 6th grade at University Elementary School in Bloomington.
She is one of the top 31st spellers for the National Spelling Bee in 2021. She passed round 4 and 5 and was eliminated in round 6.
Yena is a studious individual who loves learning about new things all the time. She has a fascination with contagious diseases, and reads all about them in her spare time. Yena also enjoys learning all about historical events and people who lived hundreds of years ago.
She won second place in a poetry competition comprised of gifted students her age from around the world.
