BLOOMINGTON – Residents receiving sanitation services from the Sanitation Division of the City of Bloomington Public Works Department can now schedule pickup of items related to flooding from last weekend’s weather event.
Residents who have experienced flooding and have items needing disposal should follow these guidelines:
- In order to schedule pickup, residents must use this form, or call the Sanitation Division at 812-349-3443
- This pickup will only be for items related to flood damage to single-family homes and properties served by the City of Bloomington Sanitation Division. Such items will be picked up on the resident’s normal service day.
- A single $10 large item charge will be billed to the account.
- Carpet either needs to be cut into manageable pieces, or rolled and tied at both ends so that it is manageable for staff.
- Any items that can be bagged will need to be bagged.
- Downed branches and other vegetation need to be picked up as part of normal schedules for yard waste pickup.
- Electronics will not be picked up as part of these efforts. Any electronic items can be disposed of through the Monroe County Solid Waste Management District Electronics Recycling Program or through this weekend’s free e-recycling event sponsored by Cook Medical.
