BEDFORD – The North Lawrence Community School board named Amy Redman as the new director for the North Lawrence Career Center during their meeting Thursday night.
Redman graduated from Purdue University with a Batchelor degree in Family Consumer Science Education. She was able to add Agriculture to her license. She also has a Master degree in Career Technology Education from Ball State University and is currently pursuing her CTE directorship license.
Redman spent ten years in 4-H and grew up on a farm. She is thankful to have experience in Career Technology Education areas. She was a teacher for 12 years at Mitchell Community Schools.
Last year she worked for Five-Star Technology Solutions which is an educational technology company that consults professional development specialists. They work in the North Lawrence Community School system as a contractor to help teachers adjust to integrate technology.
During COVID-19 teachers learned how to teach online and meet the various needs during this period.
“I believe with this experience this will help me to integrate technology in a meaningful way the North Lawrence Career Center,” said Redman.
Amy and her husband Patrick have been married for 13 years. They have two sons Dane who is 7, and Will is 4. The couple raises cattle and has a couple of horses on a farm in Lawrence County.
The family is involved in 4-H and supports those programs. She serves as the 4-H Council president this year and will be responsible to lead this year’s fair.
