BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested Sunday after a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputy and a probation officer conducted a home search looking for illegal contraband.
Officers went to the home of 37-year-old Joshua Woods after learning that he was beleived to have pills, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, a loaded firearm, a large-edged knife, and alcoholic beverages in the home.
When police arrived they took possession of a pill bottle that contained 49.5, 600-milligram Gabapentin and nine, 300-milligram Gabapentin pills. Woods could not provide a valid prescription for.
Police also seized a multi-colored rubber and glass smoking device containing burnt marijuana and a blue metal grinder containing approximately 4.4 grams of marijuana.
They also seized a loaded Smith & Wesson M&P 9 Shield EX.
Woods was arrested on charges of two counts of possession of a legend drug, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
