BLOOMINGTON – Congratulations to Alexandra King, a senior at Bloomington High School North on winning first place in the High School Division of the annual Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day Art Exhibition. She received the prize of $3000.
This year’s theme was “Self-Care in Difficult Times”
Alexandra submitted her piece called “Rising Through the Dark”. A drawing she created for her Journalism class with Mr. Beaver and drew on the skills she learned from the drawing classes she has taken at North with Mr. Allanson for two years.
The evaluation team considered a combination of artistic merit and how well the piece represented the theme of standing up for your mental wellness.
