BLOOMINGTON – Ivy Tech Community College’s Bloomington campus has named Adam Gross the Executive Director for Career Coaching and Employer Connections (CCEC). This redeveloped division at the college aims to connect Ivy Tech students and graduates with local employers to gain career experience and professionally develop the local workforce.
Gross previously served as Director of Industry Outreach, leading customized training programs for local businesses. The newly launched CCEC office will continue to deliver customized training for industry partners with the goal to maximize tuition assistance policies and grant-funding to upskill employees and improve their work on the job. Gross began his new role July 1, 2021.
“Ivy Tech is glad to launch this newly-aligned office of Career Coaching and Employer Connections, which combines career development and employer engagement efforts to address the workforce needs of our students, graduates, and local industry,” said Chancellor Jennie Vaughan. “Adam is poised to lead these efforts with his demonstrated success in establishing and building strategic partnerships with businesses and other community partners, helping employees thrive and companies grow.”
In his previous role as Director of Industry Outreach, Gross was instrumental in the awarding of training grants totaling more than $500,000, which included budgeting, writing proposals, and ultimately delivering the customized industry training programs. He is a certified Carew Dimensions Professional Sales Trainer and holds a Master of Business Administration degree. He serves on boards and volunteers for Region 8 Workforce Board, Lawrence County Economic Growth Council, Bloomington Economic Development Corporation, Foundation of Monroe County Community School Corporation, Young Professionals Bloomington, Bloomington Chamber of Commerce, and is a graduate of Leadership Bloomington Monroe County.
Most recently, Gross was named a 10 Under 40 Award recipient by the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce, which celebrates young notables under the age of 40 who are “rocking the business world through professional achievement, leadership, and civic involvement.” He will accept his award in a celebration ceremony on July 28, 2021.
Multiple roles are currently being filled in the Bloomington CCEC office and will be fully staffed this fall.
