BEDFORD – A Bloomington man was arrested Thursday after a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputy stopped the driver of a white Mustang for a non-working license plate light on Williams Lane, just off State Road 37 early Friday morning.
The female driver was advised of her non-working license plate light.
Officers could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Police then learned the driver, Laci Shaw’s license was suspended.
Police identified her passenger as 26-year-old Damien Memmer.
Both gave police permission to search the vehicle. During the search police located two small clear plastic baggies containing crystal meth in a styrofoam to go cup.
Memmer told police the meth was his and he was arrested on a charge of possession of meth.
