Matthew Kesterson, 69, of Mitchell, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born August 3, 1951, in Paoli, he was the son of Samuel Grant and Alta Belle (McPherson) Kesterson. He married LaDonna Gayle Wilson on August 9, 1969.
Matthew retired from Regal Beloit and Marathon Electric. He attended Paoli Community Schools. Matt’s family was the pride of his life.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Gayle Kesterson of Mitchell; daughters, Brandi Kesterson (Darren) Speer of Mitchell, Cara Kesterson (Kent Todd) Conner of Mitchell; grandchildren, Elizabeth Austin, Victoria (Kevin) Cessna, Ethan ( Alyssa Mahan) Bohnekamp, Grace Bohnekamp, Caroline Conner, Katherine Conner, Adryanna (Dylan Wedgewood) Speer, Alex (Alaina) Speer, Raymond Todd, and Sarah Todd; great-grandson, Matthew Cessna; siblings, Doug Kesterson of Mitchell, Rita Phillips of Mitchell, Morris (Shirley) Kesterson of Paoli, Lillian Scott of Michigan City
His parents; grandson, Blais Bohnekamp; and in-laws, Clifford and Imogene Rayhill; and several brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Following cremation, burial will be at a later date in Mitchell Cemetery.
