BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested after Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies were called to Speedway on Saturday after a report that a male had possibly overdosed in a vehicle in the parking lot.
When police arrived they found 39-year-old Steven Coffin in the driver’s seat of a 2003 Honda Accord.
Officers asked Coffin to step out of the vehicle and asked if he had anything in his pockets and Coffin said he didn’t know.
Officers found a cylinder-like object in Coffin’s pocket that contained meth residue.
Coffin then told the officer they would find a syringe in the driver’s side door compartment. They found a second syringe containing meth in the driver’s side floorboard and a third syringe in the passenger-side floorboard.
Coffin was arrested on charges of possession of meth and unlawful possession of a syringe.
