BLOOMINGTON – Ivy Tech Community College is offering a tuition-free EMT certification course for eligible students in Paoli that starts on Aug 19. There is still time to sign-up for this one-course program that prepares graduates to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians exam, which qualifies them for work as an EMT. The class is just one semester-long and will be held at the Lost River Career Cooperative near Paoli High School.
“EMT training at Ivy Tech is a Next Level Jobs Indiana program, paid for by the Workforce Ready Grant. This means eligible students can take the class tuition-free and become prepared to go directly to work in this high-demand field,” said Rodney Taylor, MBA, EMT-P/PI, paramedic science program chair at Ivy Tech Bloomington. “Students still have time to apply to the college for free and sign up for the class. Ivy Tech is offering this course in Paoli, which is close to home for residents of Orange County and surrounding areas.”
