LAWRENCE CO. – A storm that rolled through on Thursday night kept utility and emergency officials busy.
The storm knocked out power to about 1,100 Duke Energy customers. Outages were reported at 15 various locations throughout Lawrence county.
A tree near the Williams Post Office knocked out power in that area. A transformer and pole fell near Big Lots sent fire crews from the Bedford Fire Department to the location. There was not a fire when firefighters arrived at the scene.
During the peak of the storm, about 3,400 Duke Energy customers were without power throughout Indiana. Duke Energy was able to swiftly return power to many of it’s costomers. This morning at 9:00 a.m. there were only 61 customers were without power statewide.
