NASHVILLE – Brown County scored twice midway through the match and edged Bedford North Lawrence 2-1 during girls high school soccer action on Monday.
The Eagles (1-5) recorded a goal with 2:43 left in the first half, then added an insurance goal seven minutes into the second half.
BNL (0-6-1) got on the board with 11 minutes left on a goal by Sydney Hallatt (BNL’s second score of the season) but couldn’t come up with the equalizer.
“We had a lot of opportunities but couldn’t connect,” BNL coach Jackie Dufresne said. “We passed the ball better and utilized our offense, but they couldn’t make it work. We got caught watching in the midfield and not playing as a whole.
“Brown County used that to their advantage. I know these girls can play better than they just performed tonight. They just have to want it.”
BNL will visit Seymour on Thursday.
