COLUMBUS – Columbus East tightened its grip on first place in the Hoosier Hills Conference with a three-set sweep of Bedford North Lawrence during girls high school volleyball action on Tuesday night.
The Olympians (12-2 overall, 3-0 in the league) rolled to a 25-11, 25-7, 25-14 victory.
Carlee Kern had 7 kills and 3 digs, Annie Waggoner had 3 kills and 7 digs, Maddy Bennett had 3 kills, and Hayley Davis had 7 digs for the Stars (1-9, 0-3 in the HHC).
“The scores don’t totally display our playing tonight,” BNL coach Gabrielle Arthur said. “We played very well as a team and did a great job adapting to the serve and hits. We are doing so well at getting more touches on balls at the net and back court.
“The girls had fun tonight and their energy has been unmatched until this game. This is a great way to transition into Senior Night on Thursday. We’re ready for a win.”
BNL will seek to end its 7-game skid when it hosts Shoals on Thursday (varsity action at 6 p.m.).
