Burl R. Terrell, 85, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Mitchell Manor following a long battle with cancer.
Born February 11, 1936, in Lawence County, he was the son of Burl R. Terrell, Sr.and Lillian (Ray) Terrell Jeans. He married Lois M. Ratliff March 7, 1953.
Burl owned B & L Auto Repair and retired in 1998. He was a member and deacon of Spice Valley Baptist Church. Burl’s favorite pass times were reading his Bible and playing golf where he achieved a hole-in-one.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Terrell of Mitchell; children, Terry W. Terrell and his companion Patricia Elkins of Mitchell, Sharon Terrell of Mitchell; grandchildren, Adam Terrell, Jason Ball, Julie (Jeff) Huntsman, Shannon (Amy), Terrell, Michael Terrell, and Kimberly Terrell and her companion Charles Pierce; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, at Spice Valley Baptist Church with Pastor Roger Allen officiating. Burial will be in Spice Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the church.
