Alpha M. McKnight, 97, of Bedford, passed away Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, at White River Lodge in Bedford.
She was born Sept. 10, 1924, in Bedford, to John F. and Alpha (Bartlett) Manzenberger. She married William G. McKnight on Oct. 31, 1941, and he preceded her in death on April 18, 1976.
Alpha was a graduate of Heltonville High School and a member of Fairview Community Church. She was secretary for Heltonville School and later retired from the North Lawrence Community School System.
Alpha is survived by several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
Preceding Alpha in death were her parents; husband; four brothers, Bill, Joe, Frank, and Johnny Manzenberger; and six sisters, Kate Covey, Helen Reuter, Angie Sego, Luella Clampitt, Mary Jane Moses, and Mildred Deckard.
Visitation for Alpha will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at the Mundell Christian Church. The funeral service will begin at 6:00 p.m., Monday, also at Mundell, with Pastor Kenny Fisher and Pastor Jon Wisley officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Mundell Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Mundell Christian Church Cemetery Fund.
