OOLITIC – An Oolitic man was arrested Friday after a woman came to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department to report she had been injured during a domestic dispute.
The woman told the deputy 51-year-old John Cowden had slapped her face and then grabbed her face.
The officer reported the woman’s face was red with irritation and she had fingermark impressions on her skin.
Deputies responded to the woman’s apartment she shared with Cowden on 9th Street in Oolitic and arrested Cowden on a charge of domestic battery.
