Shirley L. Briscoe, 83, of Mitchell, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Mitchell Manor.
Born June 26, 1938, in Washington County, she was the daughter of Edith E. Walts. She married Donald L. “Leroy” Briscoe on November 20, 1964, and he preceded her in death on December 11, 2017.
Shirley was a licensed insurance agent. She loved music, playing the piano, and singing, and was a member of Tulip Street Christian Church.
Survivors include her children, Diana (Larry) Caudell of Mitchell, Kevin (Cathy) Hamilton Sardinia, Ohio, Denise (Mark) Riker of Bedford, Debbie Terrell of Bedford; grandchildren, Stephanie Oliver, Christie Bunch, Gearry Caudell, Bradley Hamilton, Michael Riker, Laura Hamilton, and Samantha Terrell nine great-grandchildren, siblings, Judy Pittman of Dresden, Tennessee, Joan Martin of Mitchell, June Martin Morlan of Warrensburg, Missouri, Rebekah Dwyer of Mitchell, John Martin of Mitchell
Her mother; husband, Leroy Briscoe; son, Kim Hamilton; son-in-law, Chris Terrell; and siblings, Reva Mundy and Harry “Bud” Martin preceded her in death.
Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, October 3, at Mitchell Cemetery.
