BLOOMINGTON – The City of Bloomington Planning and Transportation Department is hosting public input meetings for the East 7th Street Greenway and the Graham/Broadview Neighborhood Greenway projects.
At the following meetings, staff from the City’s departments of Planning and Transportation and Engineering will share the preliminary design of each greenway and collect input from residents and users:
- East 7th Street Greenway (N. Union Street, SR 45/46 Underpass): Friday, October 1 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the intersection of E. 8th Street and N. Overhill Drive. A rain date of October 21 is proposed for the outdoor event. The E. 7th Street Greenway will extend east-west connectivity to the Indiana University campus and downtown via the 7-Line. - Broadview/Graham Neighborhood Greenway (S. Rockport Road, S. Rogers Street): Tuesday, October 5 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Broadview Park Pavilion (704 W. Graham Drive). The Broadview/Graham Neighborhood Greenway will create a valuable bike/pedistrian connection from the B-Line and Switchyard Park to the city’s southwest side. Neighborhood Greenways are low-speed, low-volume, shared-space streets that create high-comfort walking and bicycling connections. The Bloomington Transportation Plan, adopted in July 2019, designates neighborhood greenways within the Priority Bicycle Facilities Network to advance multimodal transportation in the city in keeping with the City’s sustainability goals.
