Mary Ann Young, 82, of Heltonville, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at her residence. Born in Lawrence County on October 18, 1938, she was the daughter of Pat Harrison Deckard and Rena E. (Flora) Deckard. She married Charlie Young on March 13, 1995 and he preceded her in death. Mary Ann was a homemaker and was a graduate of Heltonville High School with the class of 1957. She was a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church and was president of the Heltonville Alumni Banquet Committee.
Surviving to cherish the memory of Mary Ann are her two sons, Douglas W. Fleetwood and Scott (Nedra) Fleetwood; five grandchildren, Britney (Brett) Baker, Lacie (Rocky) Huber, Harrison Fleetwood, Alexzandra (fiancé Jorden Hottle) Fleetwood and Brock Fleetwood; great grandchildren, Jaxsen Baker, Blayton Chaillaux, Fynley Baker, Raiden Riggle, Zander Huber, Alayna Huber, Atticus Hottle, Adler Hottle, Lochyn Hottle and Amari Huber.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, Roger Deckard. Funeral services will be at 11am Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford with Pastor Mark Fugate officiating. Burial will follow at Gilgal Cemetery in Heltonville. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8pm at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel.
